This Privacy Policy explains how Retellect, SIA ("Retellect", "we") handles personal data when you visit retellect.com, contact us, or interact with the services we provide to our retail customers. It is written in plain language. If anything is unclear, write to info@retellect.com.

1. Who is the controller

Retellect, SIA, registered in the Republic of Latvia, address Vienības gatve 87B-1, Riga LV-1004, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and our direct communications.

When Retellect's checkout vision platform is deployed in a retailer's store, the retailer is the data controller for any personal data captured at the checkout lane. In that context Retellect acts as the data processor, processing the data only on the retailer's documented instructions. See our Data Processing page for the full processor terms.

2. What data we collect

2.1 When you use this website

• Technical data your browser sends (IP address, user agent, referrer, pages viewed, timestamps) — for security and basic site analytics.
• Cookies — see our Cookie Notice for the full list.

2.2 When you contact us

• Your name, work email, employer, role, and the contents of your message.
• Any meeting notes we take during follow-up conversations.

2.3 When you receive product communications

• Your business contact details and engagement data (opens, clicks) — only with your consent or under a legitimate-interest basis as your supplier or prospective supplier.

3. Why we process it (and the legal basis)

• To respond to enquiries — performance of pre-contractual steps at your request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• To deliver and improve the website — legitimate interest in operating a secure, useful site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• To send product and service updates — legitimate interest in keeping existing and prospective B2B contacts informed (Art. 6(1)(f)); you can opt out at any time.
• To meet our legal obligations — accounting, tax, regulatory record-keeping (Art. 6(1)(c)).

4. How long we keep it

• Website logs: up to 12 months.
• Sales and pre-sales correspondence: up to 36 months from the last contact, then deleted or anonymised.
• Customer contract and accounting records: as required by Latvian and EU law (typically 10 years).

5. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with vetted sub-processors who help us run the business — hosting and infrastructure providers, email delivery, video and meeting tools, accounting software. A current list of sub-processors is maintained on our Data Processing page.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

6. International transfers

Where a sub-processor is based outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard recognised under GDPR Art. 46.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, write to info@retellect.com. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (dvi.gov.lv) or your local supervisory authority.

8. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal data — access controls, encryption in transit, encrypted backups, regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure; we apply reasonable measures appropriate to the risk.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the way we handle data changes or when legal requirements evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on this page or communicated to you directly.
