The solution was shown on Partner Tech's stand, integrated into one of its self-checkout terminals. Visitors could place a product on the scale and see the system recognise it and display the result on screen in under a second.
Testing the idea with retail professionals
EuroShop provided an opportunity to put a working system in front of retailers, checkout specialists and technology providers — and observe how they responded to it.
Rather than explaining the concept through slides, the team could let visitors use the solution themselves. Their questions and feedback helped identify what mattered in a real checkout environment, from recognition speed and accuracy to integration with existing hardware.
From research to a retail-ready product
The demonstration represents an important step in Retellect's development. A technology that until now existed mainly as a research project is running on an actual self-checkout terminal in front of a retail audience.
The conversations and practical feedback gathered at EuroShop will help shape the product's next iteration and prepare it for the first deployments in real stores.
